Dina and her husband Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz are the directors of Chabad in Temecula, California and have seven young children. Yitzi was diagnosed with ALS four years ago and at this stage cannot move any muscles other than his eyes. Incredibly, he continues to write his weekly online Torah commentary using eye recognition technology and continues to be upbeat and cheerful. Dina has spoken about her family’s struggles and successes in venues throughout the U.S. and her poignant story leaves her audiences simultaneously laughing and crying.
The program will include remarks by Dr. Scott Vota, Interim Chairperson, Department of Neurology, VCU Medical Center on current medical advances in ALS.
Also “Shine A Little Light” video presentation and an elegant dessert buffet.
